The Farm
Longrange is a 2,755 effective hectare sheep and beef breeding and finishing property. The contour of the land ranges from gentle rolling land to large steep paddocks. There are 12,000 breeding ewes and an Angus cow herd of 600.
The property is well fenced with great infrastructure and uses modern tools, well-maintained gear, and technology for a large breeding operation. Longrange is at the forefront of environmental works with six QEII Blocks, extensive native retirement, wetlands and riparian planting.
Longrange is located in Omakere, Central Hawkes Bay, approximately 30 minutes from Waipukurau, 10 minutes from Blackhead Beach and 55 minutes from Havelock North and Hastings. The Omakere Primary School is a 10 minute drive away.
The Position
There will be a wide range of farm maintenance fencing including conventional fencing and some electric through to the day to day maintenance of the water systems and tracking. Machinery and building maintenance, weed control, tree maintenance and some seasonal farm yard-work when required.
About You
The successful applicant will take pride in their workmanship, be self-motivated, tidy, trustworthy, well organised and excellent communication skills. The farm employs six other full-time staff including a fencer general so the successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team.
