The Farm

Longrange is a 2,755 effective hectare sheep and beef breeding and finishing property. The contour of the land ranges from gentle rolling land to large steep paddocks. There are 12,000 breeding ewes and an Angus cow herd of 600.

The property employs 7 full time employees including 2 fencer generals.

The property is well fenced with great infrastructure and uses modern tools, well-maintained gear, and technology for a large breeding operation. Longrange is at the forefront of environmental works with 6 QEII Blocks, extensive native retirement, wetlands and riparian planting.

Longrange is located in Omakere, Central Hawkes Bay, approximately 30 minutes from Waipukurau, 10 minutes from Blackhead Beach and 55 minutes from Havelock North and Hastings. The Omakere Primary School and Playcentre are a 10 minute drive away.

About You

You will be an honest, energetic, good natured individual who will work well in a team environment and has respect for livestock and equipment. You will need a team of 4 broken in working dogs and have a minimum of 4 years shepherding experience. Stock work is done either on horse or sxs.

The successful application needs to have a great work ethic, be self-motivated, tidy and trustworthy.
