Cabbage Tree Flat is a standout 2,062-hectare farm located in the picturesque Waimarama district, just southeast of Havelock North. With 1,949 effective hectares of owned and leased land, this property combines coastal proximity with high-performing pastoral systems

    • 5,500 lambs brought in with around 10-12,000 lambs finished annually

Cattle Policy:

    • 500 Angus breeding cows
    • Steer calves finished retained
    • Heifer calves transferred to Longrange, returned in-calf as first calvers
    • Purchase of yearling and 18month steers for finishing
    • Finishing a total of 700 steers and 200 heifers

Environmental Stewardship

  • Fenced and planted the Waingongoro stream and wetlands in partnership with the Waingongoro Awa Restoration Project
  • Three retired QEII Trust blocks of native bush to preserve biodiversity
